Coaching is not medical care. Trine Running provides running coaching and movement screening. It is not a medical diagnosis, not treatment, and not a substitute for advice from your doctor or physiotherapist. If something hurts, see a medical professional.

About your coach's credentials

Your coach is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with more than 30 years of experience, and brings that background to how your running is assessed. That experience informs the coaching — but within Trine Running he is acting as your coach, not as your healthcare provider. No doctor–patient or clinician–patient relationship is created by subscribing, and nothing here is regulated healthcare.

What the gait analysis is, and is not

The analysis looks at how you move across three planes of motion and highlights patterns often associated with overuse injuries. It is an observational, coaching-level assessment based on short video clips.

  • It cannot diagnose an injury, a condition, or a structural problem.
  • It cannot rule one out. A clear report does not mean nothing is wrong.
  • It is limited by what the clips show — lighting, angle, clothing and surface all affect what can be seen.
  • Measurements are estimates from video, not clinical instruments.

Talk to a doctor first

Speak to a qualified medical professional before starting or changing a training programme, and particularly if any of these apply to you:

  • You have a heart condition, high blood pressure, or have been told to limit physical activity.
  • You feel chest pain, dizziness or shortness of breath during exercise.
  • You are recovering from injury or surgery, or are in treatment for a musculoskeletal problem.
  • You are pregnant or recently postpartum.
  • You have a condition that could be affected by exercise, or take medication that affects your heart rate or balance.

Stop and seek medical help if you get chest pain, faintness, severe or worsening pain, or any sudden symptom while training. If it is an emergency, contact your local emergency services — do not email us and wait.

Running carries risk, and you accept it

Running and strength training carry an inherent risk of injury, and no coaching can remove it. By taking part you accept that risk voluntarily. You are responsible for exercising judgement about your own body: adjust or stop if something feels wrong, and don't push through pain because a plan says so.

Your plan is built for you, based on what you tell us. Please keep us up to date about injuries, pain and how you are feeling, and don't pass your plan to anyone else — it was not written for them.

Reports are drafted with AI and reviewed by your coach

Your written report is drafted with the help of an AI system and then read, edited and approved by your coach before you see it. AI can be wrong. Your coach's judgement, not the software, stands behind what reaches you — and it remains coaching, with all the limits described above. There is more detail in our Privacy Policy.

No guaranteed outcome

We cannot promise a particular result — not a finishing time, not a performance gain, and not freedom from injury. Anything on this site describing what coaching can do is a description of the approach, not a guarantee of your outcome.

Questions about any of this? Email scott@trinerunning.com before you subscribe — we would far rather talk it through first.
